 Bristol Half Marathon Places
Other OrganisationsHere are the details of a couple of charities with places left for the Bristol Half Marathon.

Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal (the charity that supports Bristol Children’s Hospital) still has approximately 20 Gold Bond Places left in this year’s Bristol Half Marathon should any of your members want a place, and would like to run on behalf of the Appeal.

From this year’s event we hope to raise over £20,000 from the race in order to fund a new incubator for the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit. This invaluable equipment would help the doctors and nurses on the ward to help save the lives of even more premature babies each year.

If you would like further information, or a registration form, please do get in touch and I can send you out anything you might need.

All our runners receive a Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal race vest as well as a Race Pack and fundraising support. Also, anyone entering before 31st July will be entered into a free prize draw to win some champagne!

Thank you for your support. All the best, Laura, laura@grandappeal.org.uk

Most of us probably haven't thought about how lucky we are to have the potential to participate in a running event. Yet it is a sad fact that more than 20 million people around the world are in desperate need of a wheelchair. The majority of disabled people in developing countries are routinely excluded from employment, education, family and community life.

Motivation works to improve the quality of life of people with mobility disabilities in developing countries. By working in partnership with local organisations Motivation ensures they have the skills to build and provide high quality, low cost wheelchairs appropriate for the local environment and fitted to meet the needs of the individual. Since 1991 Motivation has implemented 25 programmes in 34 countries.

Motivation has guaranteed places in the Bristol Half Marathon on 9th September 2007

We ask our runners to pay an initial £50 to cover entry fees and administrative costs, and then to raise a further £50 minimum in sponsorship. In return we provide guaranteed entry to the race, a fundraising pack, personalised sponsorship forms, a Motivation t-shirt and fantastic support.

Motivation trains disabled people to set up their own wheelchair workshops Motivation works to help disabled people achieve full inclusion in family life
