James Preston had a series of no throws in hammer, discus and shot. ;; Somehow he managed two valid efforts - one to win the discus 36.98m and the other, a third round Grade 1 attempt of 14.59m to win the shot putt and the award. ;;
Zoe Laing was within a whisker of a similar award in leaping 5.00m in the GU13 long jump. Martin Hall and Adam Taylor headed the 100m U17 race. ;; Cameron Walker-Shepherd was the only pole vault squad member present and cleared 3.70 and would have liked to have gone higher. ;; Hayley Green not only excelled in the discus but ran a fine bend in the 4 x 100m relay. ;;
In the under 13 girls Lucy Bryan marked her first appearance with a winning grade 2 clearance of 1.33m in the under 13 high jump and Kila Allen won the 70m hurdles impressively. ;;
All competing members contributed to the team result which was excellent considering the gaps in the team due to injuries and non availability. ;;
The team next competes at Cheltenham on 3 June. ;; We shall need the full commitment of members to face the tougher challenge from Cheltenham, Birchfield and Mansfield. ;;New members are always welcome across all events and particularly under 13 boys. ;;
