The meeting was held in blustery wind conditions which may have helped the sprinters to good times but created difficulties for all the jumpers and distance runners.

Match result:

1st Yate & District, 399.5
2nd Charnwood, 378
3rd Bristol & West, 324.5
4th Bridgend & Neath, 313

The two local athlete of the match award winners were:

Tom Gibson (B&W), ranked No 1 under 14 pole vaulter in the UK last year, cleared 3.30m and 3.70m at the first attempt. He attempted 4.00 once and then sensibly retired

Jade Ellans (Yate) relied on an excellent first round effort in the triple jump of 10.98 to win the event and the award. The award is for the best individual performance in an event and the next best performance on the day was her shot putt effort of 9.68.

Amongst the Bristol team there were some excellent performances from James Preston SP, Ding Yang LJ, TJ & HJ, Lewis Hield 200, Luke Bailey HJ, Cameron Walker-Shepherd and Jake Bishop PV, Sean Hazell 400mH, 3000m & 1500 SC. The top female performance was an excellent run by Emily Diamond in the 200m. Emily's time of 25.52secs in the U17 200m was a personal best by 0.8secs, and 0.5secs faster that the English Schools qualifying time. Daisy Da Silva won the GU15 HJ with a new PB of 1.45. U17s Hayley Green, Lucy Taylor, Katherine Newman, Rachel Pitman lead the way in a team effort on the day.
