 Womens Midland League match report
Race Fixtures and Results

A big thank-you to all of those who competed last weekend at Sutton Coldfield, particularly those women and girls who are competing in the English Schools competition this coming weekend, it was much appreciated. Both Kettering, Royal Sutton Coldfield and Leicester fielded full teams, including athletes competing in the English schools next week. Our athletes competed exceptionally well, particularly members of the U15 and U17 team, some of whom were very inexperienced at this level. Due to the low numbers of U15's and U17's available we were unable to compete in all of the events.

The next meeting will be at Tamworth on Sunday 13th August. I'm sure with a full team we will be able to achieve 1st or 2nd.

I must also thank the officials and volunteers who helped out during the day...
Tracey Martin : Track Judge
Colin Hickey, Bill Kingston, Martin Davies and Caroline Swinbank : Field Judges and
Mike Strange : Timekeeper.

Without their help we wouldn't have been able to compete in the League.

Awards were given for best performances in track and field for the 3 age groups (£10.00 Vouchers from Sweatshop)
Seniors : Kate Goodhead, Laura Reed and Emma Whittaker
U17's : Grace Copplestone and Christina Jones
U15's : Zoe Laing and Kim Yeates.

All those with PB's were given complimentary tickets for the next 20/20 County cricket match....Gloucestershire v Glamorgan

Kate Goodhead received the top award but donated her prize of a ticket to watch England v Pakistan 20/20 International on 28th August.

It was decided to draw a name out of a hat and Daisy Mcquaid won the prize and will be a "ball girl" at the game and meet members of the England Team...well done Daisy!
