Aiming to make running fun

NYAL Midland Premier Division at Yate on Sunday 31 July 2005
Young Athletes

The best way to complete the season was a win in the final match with Sarah Smart and Sam Richards winning Athlete of the Match Awards. Sarah gained the award for a 10.11m triple jump and Sam for clearing 3.90m in the pole vault. Both are under 17s.

Throughout the afternoon the match score was always close but scoring contributions by the whole team created a winning 17 point margin.

The team should now end the season 5th out of 18 clubs which is a tremendous outcome. At the start of the season no one could have imagined the team success that has been achieved . Success has been gained thanks to the efforts of the team managers but mainly by the young people enjoying athletics.

The outstanding performances on Sunday came from
  Joel Hartley MU17 TJ 12.92m,
Tony Hillier BU15 PV 3.60 and HJ 1.71,
  Cameron Walker-Shepherd BU15 PV 3.20,
  James Preston BU15 SP 12.08,
