Ladies Midland League Match, 3rd July
Bristol and West AC News

Just a short note to let you know that the girls/women finished 2nd to
Kettering, which was a great result considering the problems I had with
availability. Over 30 senior women/girls were unavailable for the meeting. Report by team manager, Ian Moss.

(Sorry for delay in posting).

Once again a big thank-you to Sam Gray for travelling all the way from South Wales.

As usual Easy Runner and Sweatshop sponsored the event and the Track & Field Officials, Bill Kingston, Colin Hickey, Rose Baldwin, Mike Strange and Martin Davies were sponsored by the British Raj restaurant and as a consequence received a voucher toward the cost of a meal.

Unfortunately no pictures were taken because Dave had problems with both camera's.

Special awards were given to Emma Reed, Sarah Smart and Christina Jones for competing yesterday despite being picked for the English Schools Championships next week.

All the athletes received a prize for obtaining a PB and the following awards were presented : -

Senior (Best Performance)................. Rammel Houson
U17 (Best Performance)..................... Christina Jones
U15 (Best Performance)..................... Lucy Taylor
All of them received a voucher for a new pair of spikes.

Senior (Most improved performance)

Liz Tipler (Track), Christie Lazenby (Field)

U17's (Most improved performance)

Stephanie Kelly (Track), Eve Lockett (Field)

U15's  (Most improved performance)

Stephanie Sale (Track)
Sophie Bridges (Field)

All these women/girls received 25% discount off a new pair of NEW Balance trainers.

Pick of the bunch.....
Emily Diamond 100M(A) 13.2  (U15s) 1ST
Sam Gray 3K (A) 10.35.6 1ST, 1500M (A) 4.51.0 2ND.....I'm sure SAM won't mind me mentioning that the winning time was 4.29.8!!! by Kettering U17 girl, Sian Edwards.
Which shows how stiff the opposition is in Div 4.

Rammel Houson 12.7 100MA 2ND.
Stephanie Kelly Senior 400MH (A) 74.5 2ND
Eve Lockett Senior 400MH (B) 75.7 1ST
Grace Copplestone 800M U15 (A) 2.28.6 2ND.....Lucy Taylor 800M U15 2.34.0 1ST
