| NJAL, Severn Division |
 Taking place on the Sunday 27th April, the first of the NJAL league matches kicked off. This year the team, combining with the Mendip team only managed 2nd place. With a slightly improved turn out next time the win is there for the taking.

| National Road Relays |
|
The Senior Men and Woman took part in the National Road Relays over the weekend (Saturday 26th April) and although the teams didn't medal they still performed well with special praise to the under strength women's who just missed out on the bronze.

| Bridge Inn Race 4, 2007/8 Results |

Congratulations to everyone who ran on a night when conditions were a bit damp but never the less saw 136 runners finish, which made it one of our largest fields.

The next Bridge Inn 5k takes place on Tuesday 29th January. As usual, registration takes place from 6:30 with the race to start at 7:30.

| SW and Inter-Counties Cross Country Champs |
|
South West XC Championships + SW Inter-county championships
Bicton Park, East Budleigh, Devon
Sunday 6 January 2008
Nearly 800 athletes competed in the championships. Although it is only 3 miles from the south coast, it is less than two hours by car from Bristol centre. The venue is very scenic and the course is real cross country.
Rob Bugden was very thankful to Mike Down who had to wait to pick him up from Temple Meads Station; his train was 1¼ hours late. They then had to travel via Bath which made the journey complicated and they got lost twice. It all paid off – Rob won the senior race by one second form team-mate Kevin Heywood.
B&WAC athletes, B&WAC teams and teams which finished in the first three were:

The results of Sunday's BMC Cross Country Classic are now available online, Results -> Results 2007.
Well done to everyone who braved the horrible, wet and cold conditions. There were some very competitive races and despite the weather I think most people enjoyed the day.
Well done to the marshalls and helpers, it wasn't as easy day for them in the rain.

BMC Cash Prizes for Senior Men and Women - 1st £100, 2nd £75, 3rd £50, 4th £25
Prizes for Veterans – 1st, 2nd, 3rd in M40 & F35; 1st in all other categories
Medals for first 3 individuals and first school team of 3 in each Young Athlete race
Trophy for champion school, boys and girls, calculated on best 6 positions overall
On the day - Adults £5, BMC members £4, Unattached levy £2, Young Athletes £2
All fees minus £1 when you enter by Saturday 11 November School pre-entries free

Last nights Bridge Inn saw one of the biggest fields compete in what was a very competitive race with 23 athletes breaking 17 minutes.

| Senior Women Strike Silver |
|
The women had a great day up at Sutton Park in the Midland Road Relays on Saturday 22nd September taking the Silver medal. Showing the great depth in the ranks the B team came 5th followed closely by the C team in 8th and the D team placed in the first half of the field in 27th (54 complete scoring teams in total).
The men faired less well finishing just outside of the medals in 4th. The B team ran well to finish in 8th and the C team managed to get inside the first half of the field in 41st (84 complete scoring teams).

| SW Inter-County Championships |
There were some good performances from the Avon team at the South West Inter-Counties Championships at Exeter on Sunday, 5th August. The team came third overall behind Devon in 1st place and Dorset in 2nd.
